FEI ("FEI", "we", "us") respects the privacy of every visitor to feiny.com. This policy describes what data we collect on this website, why, and what your choices are. We operate as a fine-gemstone and jewelry firm whose business runs on discretion, and we treat website data with the same expectation.
Summary
- We collect only analytics about how visitors use this site, and only after explicit consent.
- If you decline analytics, no tracking happens.
- If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email, and message you submit.
- We do not sell, share, or rent visitor data to third parties for marketing.
- We use no advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or social-media tracking on this site.
What we collect
Analytics (with consent)
When you accept the consent banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use this site. Google receives the following on your behalf:
- Pages you view and the order you view them in
- How long you spend on the site
- The referring website or search term that brought you here
- Your country, region, and city (derived from your IP address, which is then anonymized before storage)
- Your device type, browser, operating system, and screen size
- A randomly assigned identifier stored in a cookie, which lets Google recognize returning visits
We have IP anonymization enabled in our GA4 configuration. We do not enable Google Signals, Google Ads remarketing, or any advertising features. GA4 data is retained for 14 months and then automatically deleted.
Contact form (when you submit one)
If you write to us through the contact form, the name, email, and message you submit are delivered to our inbox via Formspree, a form-handling service. Formspree stores submissions on its servers temporarily so we can retrieve them, then they are accessible only to us. We use submission contents to reply to you and to maintain records of our correspondence in the ordinary course of business. We do not add contact-form submitters to a mailing list.
Email and phone (when you reach us directly)
If you email [email protected] or call +1 212 583 0899, we handle that correspondence as part of normal business and retain it according to standard commercial practice.
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) maintains short-term request logs for security and operational purposes. These contain IP addresses and request timing but are not joined with any other data and are not used by us for analytics.
Your choices
Consent
On your first visit, you see a banner asking whether to allow analytics. Your choice is remembered locally on your device. To change your choice later, clear this site's storage in your browser (the consent banner will then reappear on your next visit).
Your rights under GDPR (EU/UK visitors)
If you are in the EU, UK, or EEA, you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export the personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, write to [email protected]. We respond to such requests within 30 days. The legal basis for analytics is your consent; the legal basis for processing contact-form submissions is to take steps at your request before entering into a business relationship.
Your rights under CCPA (California visitors)
If you are a California resident, you have rights to know what personal information we have collected, to delete it, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of it. We do not sell or share personal information in the meanings used by CCPA. To exercise your rights, contact [email protected].
Third parties
The services we use on this site are:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — analytics, only with consent. Google's privacy policy.
- Formspree (Formspree, Inc.) — handles contact-form submissions. Formspree's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) — website hosting and content delivery. Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — typeface delivery. May log IP addresses on font requests; no cookies set.
Data retention
- Analytics: 14 months in GA4, then deleted automatically.
- Contact-form submissions and direct correspondence: retained for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting business relationship, then according to ordinary commercial recordkeeping practice.
- Server logs: short-term, per Cloudflare's policy.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle visitor data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected in the consent banner on your next visit.
